            Bishop James Tankersley

Born in the state of Texas to parents that were early pioneers in establishing and pastoring churches in southern Texas, many which are still progressing today. Being the youngest of 6 sons, he felt his call to the ministry at age 12 and immediately began in full-time evangelistic ministry. As a boy preacher, wearing cowboy boots and a Stetson hat, he became known across the country as "Little Jimmy, the Cowboy Preacher."  Mom and Dad Tankersley were his constant companions, home-schooling him by day and supporting his preaching by night in churches and large auditoriums across America. He was officially ordained in the ministry at age 15, the youngest on record at that time. He later met and married his wife, Audrey and they continued in the evangelistic ministry until they took pastorate of their first church in their early 20’s.

As years passed, Bishop Tankersley matured into a well-versed anointed Bible Teacher and Preacher, earning a Doctorate Degree in Theology, while pastoring several churches in the ensuing years. He was elevated to the Office of a Bishop while still a young man.

Bishop Tankersley presently is founder and pastor of the Greater Christ Temple Church in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. His ministry focuses on local church growth, the deliverance of soul, body and mind, and on to the maturing of the believer. He is a visionary who has a shepherd's heart. He constantly provides spiritual guidance, vision, hope and love for his flock. His love for our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ and mankind allows him to continuously serve with commitment and compassion.

Feed the flock of God which is among you, taking the oversight thereof, not by constraint, but willingly; not for filthy lucre, but of a ready mind; Neither as being lords over God's heritage, but being examples to the flock. And when the chief Shepherd shall appear, ye shall receive a crown of glory that fadeth not away.

I Peter 5: 2-4
